World Table Tennis Picks Tellyo Talent for Singapore Smash
London, UK, 22nd April 2022 – World Table Tennis (WTT), the commercial and events platform of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Group, selected Tellyo Talent to securely share premium video content with the players and stakeholders during its recent Singapore Smash.
“When WTT was created last year, we made a decision to bring the majority of our content production back in house for the 2022 season”, comments Content & Creative Director Joachim Davy. “The ITTF has been a Tellyo customer for several years and we’ve used the Tellyo Pro solution to edit and clip video content, but this new chapter in our story called for something more. We really wanted to make a statement with this inaugural WTT Grand Smash, and show the world and our players that we were upping our game.”
Grand Smashes form the foundation of the new WTT Series, and Singapore Smash became the first of the four new pillars of professional table tennis. Last month, the world’s best stars competed for a prize pool of USD2,000,000, the largest ever seen at an officially sanctioned table tennis event.
“Part of our strategy was focused around raising the profile of the players themselves,” continues Davy. “We supported them and, using Tellyo Talent, provided unique video content every day so they could bond with their fans. Singapore Smash was a total success on social media, rewarding our digital strategy and efforts to create engaging content for multiple audiences across all platforms.”
Tellyo Talent is an app that enables content producers to easily provide athletes, brand ambassadors, sponsors, celebrities and spokespeople with approved content that can then be personalised and shared on their social media channels. “The biggest gain for us has been efficiency and control”, notes Joachim Davy. “Staying in the Tellyo environment for content creation and distribution has enabled us to offer high quality content while having the peace of mind that media rights are being respected. This also helps players enhance their social media presence and promote successful events. The players have been extremely complimentary – it really has been a win-win and I know we’re going to expand our use of Tellyo Talent as we move through the year and announce further events”.
Tellyo CEO Richard Collins is thrilled to see Tellyo Talent delivering so many tangible benefits. “Sport is big business and it’s increasingly competitive. Federations and governing bodies are increasingly examining their digital and social media content strategies and considering how to make them more creative, more effective and even more profitable. Tellyo can help unlock your online content strategy by simplifying workflows, boosting efficiency and improving your production values!”
